Uniforms/Dress Code

Dress Code Policy
Breakthrough South has adopted a mandatory dress code for all students. Appropriate dress that is comfortable enables the student to participate and concentrate on learning. “Special clothes for a special place” supports the behavior and academic expectations at our school.

Uniform Shirts

  • Polo style with Breakthrough logo, short-sleeved or long-sleeved

  • Sweaters, Cardigans, Vests, Fleeces - all must have Breakthrough logo

  • Any shirt may be worn under a short-sleeved uniform shirt with logo for warmth

Early Childhood (PreK & K) & Elementary (Grades 1-5)

  • Cobalt Blue

  • White

Middle School (Grades 6-8)

  • Burgundy

  • Gray

Uniform Bottoms

  • Pants: Cotton or corduroy (No leggings/sweatpants worn as pants older than Gr. K)

  • Shorts: Long, bermuda style - cotton or corduroy (knee length)

  • Skirts: Plain front or pleated - cotton or corduroy (knee length)

  • Jumpers: Must have Breakthrough logo on it - cotton or corduroy (knee length)

  • Shoes: Sneakers, shoes or boots must have rubber soles (no open-toed shoes)

All grades (PreK - 8th)

  • Khaki Navy Blue Black

Dress Code Exclusions

The following clothing may NOT be worn at Breakthrough Magnet School - South:

  • Sweatpants (exceptions: PreK and K may wear due to toileting issues - school colors khaki, navy blue or black)

  • Hoodies

  • Sleeveless tops

  • Denim jeans

  • Short shorts

  • Crop top shirts

  • Hats or jackets indoors (only fleece with logo may be worn)

  • Leggings as pants (exceptions: PreK and K may wear due to toileting issues - school colors khaki, navy blue or black)

Options:

  1. Purchase uniform shirts with logos from Living Word.

  2. (2) Purchase uniforms shirts at another store and bring them to Living Word to get the logo embroidered. *You must bring the shirts first to Breakthrough main office so we can approve the color and style and then we will give you a letter of approval to take to Living Word.
